Maragang Hill

We had been busy with work lately, however we long for a walk in wilderness so much that we decided to just leave on this particular day. It was quite a shady day with lumps of clouds in the sky and the sun was just peeking shyly behind those massive cottons. We set off from Kota Kinabalu at 5.30am, when it was still a little dark. Drove all the way to the famous town of Kundasang. It usually takes 1.5 - 2hours by car and we were lucky it was Sunday. The traffic was not too cramped, everything was a little peaceful than everyday.
Vegetables growing in their backyard! I get a little jealous because it's so hard for me to plant vegetables at my place. It's too hot!
The starting point to Maragang Hill was nearby the golf course in Kundasang as in it was located side by side.
Another vegetables farm! Well, this place is literally a vegetable heaven. All sort of vegetables grow here and it's the biggest green supply around Sabah. Farming is also the biggest source of income for the people in Kundasang, and it's open for tourism too. Amazing isn't it?
The meadow. It was a mesmerizing moment, with the mist barely lifting and the wild flower bed makes it more enchanting.
The hike started here.
After trampling over the muddy trail, we reached the first kilometer. Some people call this place a scale down of Trus Madi, yes, they are right. I've been to Trus Madi once and although not exactly the same but in some way it feels similar. Probably the muddy trail and the vegetations.
Can't see anything because of the mist but it's still beautiful. This was supposed to be the viewing point, but we were not lucky enough to have a clearer view. Otherwise, the mist was actually soothing.
The trail was quite slippery but thanks to our supper durable shoes no accident happened. It is advisable to wear proper hiking shoe when you want to go for trail hunting in this area, it's one of the most wet area in Sabah.

We stopped a lot in this trip not because we were tired but part of it was enjoying the nature and also giving way to the other hikers who came before us.
Campsite? We didn't stay. There was a camp site here, especially for those who want to go for star gazing and sun rise view, the camp site is the best option. It was said that the experience was wonderful. We were planning to try the camping some time in the future.
Almost there and we were still not sweating. It was cold up there. Probably we had been enjoying our time too much that we did not strained as hard as we can.
A peek of Kundasang Town and its vegetable farms.
The peak of Maragang Hill, 2232M above sea level, just at the foot of the tallest mountain in South East Asia, Mount Kinabalu. The air on top of the hill was chilly, a little too misty and fresh. We managed to have a peek of the surrounding view after the mist rise and it has an awesome view of the Kundasang Town it's vast mountains of vegetable farms. The journey downhill was quite short, maybe because we ran all the way down. There were some parts that are quite steep but the overall trail downhill was okay.
